The Technology

IMPACT PROTECTION

Golf balls travel fast. Your walls and ceiling need to handle it. We offer three tiers of impact protection — from functional to premium — matched to your skill level, usage, and how you want the room to look.

Protecting Your Space

WHY PADDING MATTERS

MORE THAN SAFETY

Impact protection isn't just about preventing drywall damage. Proper padding absorbs sound, protects your equipment, and transforms the look of your simulator room. The level of protection you need depends on who's using the sim, their skill level, and how you want the room to look.

  • High-impact zones — center ceiling takes the most abuse from wedges and high shots
  • Walls — occasional shanks and mis-hits, less impact than ceiling
  • Sound dampening — padding significantly reduces ball strike noise for adjacent rooms
  • Equipment protection — protects launch monitors, projectors, and lighting from errant shots
  • Aesthetic value — premium padding transforms a bare room into a finished environment
  • Sizing guidance — we determine how much padding you need based on your skill level and comfort

Protection Levels

THREE TIERS

We offer three levels of wall and ceiling padding. The right choice depends on your budget, how the room will be used, and the aesthetic you want.

Value Option

ESSENTIAL

$2.99 / sq ft

Foam-backed carpet tiles on walls and ceiling. Functional impact protection at the lowest price point. We guide you on how much depth from the screen to pad based on your skill level and comfort.

  • Foam-backed carpet tiles — affordable and effective
  • Sized based on golfer skill and swing tendencies
  • Easy to install and replace individual tiles
  • Best for budget-conscious builds and garages
  • Functional protection without high cost

Example Estimate

Two side walls at 6'D × 10'H = 60 sq ft each (120 sq ft)
Ceiling at 14'W × 6'D = 84 sq ft
Total: 204 sq ft × $2.99 = ~$610

Mid-Tier

PERFORMANCE

$4.99 / sq ft

2" thick acoustic foam wedge panels (24" × 48"). A significant step up in aesthetics and acoustic properties — reduces ball impact noise by up to 80% and improves room acoustics. Good value, easily replaceable if damaged.

  • 2" high-density acoustic wedge foam — studio grade
  • Clean aesthetic — available in multiple colors and patterns
  • Acoustic dampening — reduces impact noise significantly
  • Modular — individual panels replaceable if damaged
  • Great balance of looks, performance, and price
  • Popular for dedicated residential sim rooms

Example Estimate

Each panel is 2' × 4' = 8 sq ft (4-pack = 32 sq ft)
Two side walls at 6'D × 10'H = 120 sq ft
Ceiling at 14'W × 6'D = 84 sq ft
Total: 204 sq ft ÷ 32 = ~7 packs needed
Total: 204 sq ft × $4.99 = ~$1,018

Top-Tier — Recommended

PREMIUM

Starting at $4,000+

Custom upholstered memory foam pads. Premium aesthetics with premium protection. 2" dense memory foam in high-impact areas (center ceiling for wedges and high shots). Walls padded with a hybrid of memory foam and sound-dampening foam to save cost without compromising coverage. Final price based on total square footage, fabric selection, and foam density.

  • Custom upholstered — choose fabric, color, and texture
  • 2" dense memory foam in high-impact ceiling zones
  • Hybrid memory foam + acoustic foam saves cost on walls
  • Priced per sq ft based on fabric and foam selection
  • Maximum durability — built for daily commercial use

HOW TO ESTIMATE YOUR SQUARE FOOTAGE

Measure the surfaces you want padded. For each wall: Width × Height = sq ft. For the ceiling: Width × Depth = sq ft. Add them up for your total. Most standard simulator bays need two side walls (from the screen back 4–8 feet) and the ceiling section directly above the hitting area. We'll help you determine exactly what needs coverage based on your room layout and skill level.

Our Approach

HOW WE PLAN YOUR PADDING

ENGINEERED COVERAGE

Not every wall needs the same protection. We analyze your room layout, the position of the hitting mat relative to walls and ceiling, and your typical shot patterns to determine exactly where padding is needed and at what density.

  • Ceiling center zone — highest impact area, always padded with the densest material
  • Side walls near the screen — catch shanks and mis-hits, moderate protection needed
  • Back walls — minimal impact risk, acoustic foam or optional coverage
  • Around equipment — targeted padding around launch monitors, projectors, and displays
  • Full room option — wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling coverage for the ultimate finished look
  • Commercial spec — we recommend premium tier for all commercial facilities due to daily volume
